Sausage patties in the air fryer are one of my favorite breakfast foods, Mostly because like sausage biscuits and gravy. I can’t help it, I just love biscuits and gravy.
So why cook sausage patties in the air fryer?
I think the number one reason for cooking sausage in the air fryer is time. It truly only takes 10 minutes to air fry sausage, and if you don’t like grease, you can use a cooking rack so that your sausage won’t fry in its own fat. Yes, I know sausage is fatty, but we have to do what we can to stay healthy, and sausage patties in the air fryer are a perfect way to accomplish this goal.
The great news is that you can still use the drippings from the sausage in the air fryer pan to make sausage gravy if you want to. You can use a rack, and barrel pan to catch the grease to make the gravy for your biscuits and gravy.
Other great breakfast ideas:

- 1 serving Breakfast Sausage (1.5 ounces/43 Grams)
-
Preheat air fryer to 400° F | 204° C for 5 minutes
-
If you are using the barrel pan and rack, you will not have to mist, but if you are cooking your sausage patties on the bottom of the air fryer, use a parchment paper liner or spritz the pan with avocado oil.
-
If your patties are premade, fine, if not, slice or shape your sausage into patties 1/4" - 1/2" thick and place on the rack.
-
Air fry your sausage patties at 400° F | 204° C for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway. Air fry at 8 minutes for thinner sausage patties, 10 minutes for thicker sausage patties. Use a food thermometer to make sure your sausage patties are at least 160°F | 71°C.
-
Remove sausage, plate, and enjoy!
