I know what you’re thinking. Peanut butter? Yum. Bacon? Yum. Hot Dogs? Yum. But a peanut butter bacon hot dog? Not so sure. That’s what I thought at first, too, but I guess the old saying rings true: Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.
In fact, the sweet, nutty peanut butter is the perfect sidekick for the salty, savory bacon and hot dogs. And if you really want to get wild, I recommend applewood smoked bacon to really enhance all the flavors in a good way. Preparing Air Fryer Peanut Butter Bacon Hot Dogs
One of my favorite things to prepare in the air fryer is the humble hot dog. I am not a fan of the blackened burned hot dogs prepared on the grill. Likewise, I don’t like boiled or microwaved hot dogs, either. I think the perfect way to prepare a hot dog is in the air fryer. Why? First of all, there’s no charring, you can cook them rain or shine, and they’re ready in only minutes.
Plus, you can also toast the buns and prep the bacon in the air fryer, as well!
I highly recommend adding this sweet and savory option to your hot dog bar at the next gathering of family and friends!
- 1 Hot dogs
- 1 Hot dog buns
- 1 tbsp Peanut butter
- 1 tbsp Crumbled pre-cooked bacon

Preheat your air fryer to 390° F | 199° C

Place hot dogs into the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes @ 390° F | 199° C (5 minutes is the standard time for an air fryer hot dog.)

Remove the hot dogs, and place the hot dogs into the hot dog buns

Add peanut butter and bacon. Place hot dogs back in the air fryer for an additional 2 minutes.

Plate and enjoy!
