With the upcoming summer holidays in mind, we thought it only fitting to try some gourmet flavors to spice up the average summer hot dog. And if you are a cheese lover, this Air Fryer St. Louis Hot Dog is one of our favorites.

Air Fryer (St. Louis) Hot Dog

When I first came across this recipe, I wasn’t sure about the idea of putting marinara sauce on a hot dog. I was afraid the flavor, even with the cheese variety, would be too tangy for an enjoyable hot dog.

However, the addition of the liquid smoke takes the edge off the tangy marinara sauce and complements the flavor of the hot dog.

Add the cheese, please!

And, let’s face it, the combination of white cheddar, swiss, and provolone cheeses only enhance the delicious smoky flavor of this delicious dawg.

This is the perfect option for a different spin on a Saturday afternoon meal or a hot dog bar at your next family gathering.
