Looking for an effortless meal your entire family will love? Look no further! Try cooking air fryer beef ribs. This quick and delicious meal can be prepared in half the time it takes to cook ribs on the grill or in the oven. Whether barbecue makes your mouth water or you prefer a simply seasoned variety, these beef ribs in the air fryer will be a real crowd-pleaser you’ll want to add to your list of quick weeknight meals. When choosing your ribs, remember that there are different kinds of beef ribs. This recipe calls for either short or back ribs. You may use the flank ribs, but just know that flank ribs may require hotter temps with a shorter cooking duration.
- Short ribs have the meat on the top of the bone
- Back ribs have the meat between the bone
- Flank ribs are typically used for faster cooking in Asian dishes when the ribs are cooked hot and fast.
Air fryer ribs are definitely one of our favorites. Whether you use a nice rub or a favorite barbecue sauce, you cannot go wrong with this air fried beef rib recipe. Pair with potato salad or a classic mac and cheese. Open up a nice bottle of Cabernet if you use our simple rub or a Shiraz or Malbec for a spicier rub.

That’s terrific, Armin – thank you for sharing!
I recently received a kalorik maxx air fryer oven for Christmas and I was wondering does your recipe apply just to the air fryer you use or is interchangeable with all air fryers. Thanks
Hi, Mel – That’s a great question! Your brand of air fryer isn’t important but your air fryer’s size/capacity and the amount of food you’re cooking are very important. We use different air fryers, but almost always ones that are at least 4.5 QT or larger. If you have a similar sized air fryer and are cooking a similar amount of food, you can likely follow the recipe as is. But if you have a larger or smaller air fryer or if you’re cooking more or less food, you may need to tweak the cooking time to work with your appliance.
That’s way too hot for ribs in such a small space. If you’re going to put it on 400, then only do five minutes, unless you want ribs that are tough.
Great post, Each air fryer is different, thus yours may not air fry the same as mine, we try to post these as a loose guide. This is one of our older posts so we will eventually revisit this post.
Awesome, simple. Good job
