General Wong doesn’t disappoint (does he ever??) with this variant of traditional Chinese Beef & Broccoli. Make this at home and avoid the MSG-induced coma you’ll likely endure picking this up at the local Chinese eatery. One of my favorites and also one of our favorite healthy air fryer recipes. Serves four.
This beef and broccoli recipe is a fabulous recipe for a weeknight, date night, lunch, or dinner. Beef and broccoli are super easy and especially easy in an air fryer. Substitute in tofu or sliced chicken, if that is your jam. I highly doubt anyone will doubt your kitchen skills after tasting this amazing recipe.
- 3/4 lb round steak cut into thin strips (3 oz is one serving)
- 1 lb broccoli stems removed, and cut into florets
- 1/3 cup oyster sauce
- 1/3 cup sherry
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp white sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp minced or pureed ginger
- 1 clove garlic
Slice the round steak into thin strips and set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine oyster sauce, sesame oil, sherry, soy sauce, and sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, and the cornstarch has been thoroughly mixed.
Place the round steak strips into the marinade for a minimum of 45 minutes.
Steam the broccoli florets.
Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 360° F | 176° C.
Add in a parchment paper liner, and add the beef in a single layer to the air fryer. Add the garlic, ginger, and olive oil to the top of the beef.
Air fry for 12 minutes at 360° F | 176° C.
Mix the beef with the broccoli and serve with Rice. Enjoy!
